56 Mosquito Bites

 Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to a sneak peak of Savannah Poulsons life! This week was really good and we stayed busy which made the days go by a lot faster!! I still feel like I've been here for 10 years but things are starting to pick up a little bit more so thats amazing!

Things that happened this week:

- We decided to study come follow me as a district one evening and it was nice outside so we did it outside. WELL I guess the universe hates me because I got 56 MOSQUITO BITES! It has been so painful hahahah!

- THE DALLAS TEMPLE OPENED!! I get to go through on September 8th and my angelic parents are flying down to go through with me!!

- We also went to an amazing ice cream place called Andes for an Elders birthday! Exciting!!

- So I live in a quad with the Hermana's and we found out that starting Wednesday they will be trio training. So now there will be five girls in our apartment! Party!!

- My companion and I got made the Facebook "specialists" for the account over the Arlington zone! So thats super fun! If you want to support follow @followers of Jesus Christ in Arlington!

-Shout out to all the members here! We get fed every night and I just love meeting all the family's and hearing their amazing stories!!

-Okay last thing! We were looking through the area book and I saw a name and felt like we should text her. So we texted her asking if there was anything we could pray for to help her through these crazy times! She then told us that missionaries always had the perfect time and that actually her great aunt was dying and she wouldn't see her again. We were able to call her and share a message and plan to talk to her again this week! Now even though she said it was us who have the perfect timing I know that it was God's timing that was perfect!

Okay spiritual thought.... this week we have had the opportunity to share Isaiah 41:10 with many people! This scripture has helped me so much! I know that God is my strength and that he can help me and you through anything as long as we turn to him! I love this Gospel and I love being able to learn more and more every day!!

Love you all.  Have an amazing week!!

Key lime Pie

 Hello!!!!

Okay this week has felt literally like 5 years long ahahahah! I feel like I flew out to Texas so long ago! But I made it here! So 18 months sounds daunting but also very exciting! Its crazy that I already can feel myself changing! I just can't wait to see where I am in 18 months!

Things that have happened this week:
- I said goodbye to my amazing Family and Friends! :(

- I flew over with my MTC companion Sister Guest which was amazing and made it a lot less scary! It was hard to leave her at the end of the day! I just love her!

- My trainer is Sister Hollingsworth! She is super loud, crazy and fun! She has been out about 3 months! She loves to sing and is a very happy human!! I live in a quad with the Hermanas and I LOVE THEM! I told them they have to make me fluent in Spanish ahahah!

-BEST THING YOU WILL EVER HEAR!! WE DRIVE A BLUE 2020 MINI COOPER! IM OBSESSED!

- My first night and a couple other nights this week we have been to a place called Torchy's! IT IS SUCH A GOOD TACO PLACE! Its a taco with fried chicken inside which sounds weird but it is so so good! I also don't think I've ever had queso that is so delicious before! I cant believe I have been deprived of this my whole life ahaha;)

- Okay so we also went to eat desert at a members house my first night and we ate key lime pie. So funny thing I hate key lime pie and they made me eat 2 PIECES!! I FELT SO SICK!  But they are the cutest family! Plus it makes for a good story!! I have met a few of the members and they are so cute and have fed us lots!!

- We met this new lady named Alisa! We shared a simple message with her and she wants us to come again next week so thats fun!!

- We painted a cute shed for a member! The tech sister were there as well!

- Basically life has been crazy and so scary but so much fun! I've been told that's what mission life is! So we shall see!

- I love you all and I miss you all more than you know!

Spiritual thought: It's crazy what centering your days around Jesus Christ can do! This week I have felt the light of Christ and the love of my Heavenly Father stronger than I ever have in my life!! I can't wait to keep growing in the Gospel! I am so grateful for everything it is and everything it does for me in my life!

Love all of you!!

Safely in TEXAS!

Less than 2 hours after Savannah had landed in Texas, we got an email from the Mission Home letting us know that she had arrived safely, that she would be serving in the Arlington and what her address would be.  They also attached these photos of her arrival and said how excited they are to have her in the Fort Worth Mission.  We are SO excited for her and the adventures to come!!

President and Sister Chapman

Just a few hours later, I got a text from a Sister in the Mansfield ward
where she had met her new missionary companion, Sister Hollingsworth.
They had stopped by this families home to visit them and introduce
Sister Poulson.  It's the best when mom's from the mission send me photos!!

Airport Goodbye

It never gets any easier.  Third time around and saying goodbye was every bit as hard as it was with both boys.  We thought we wouldn't be too emotional because we knew we would be flying to Texas to go through the temple with her eventually, but the emotions all came just the same.  It was such a HARD goodbye, but we are so incredibly proud of our Sister Poulson and her willingness to be brave and help move the work forward.

Trying to Say Goodbye During a Pandemic!

Trying to say goodbye to everyone with all the covid restrictions has been tricky.  We couldn't get together with many, but we did have a small gathering with some of the extended family.  Lots of mask wearing, sanitizing and trying to be careful.  Savannah and I had fun making these Texas shaped cookies together.
She was able to do a zoom call with the Poulson side and she had several friends come by to say goodbye.  It was hard to say goodbye to her sweet grandparents.  She loves them so much.
