Hello everyone!
Sorry I am not writing until today. My p-day got moved to today so that I can go to the temple tonight with the youth! So excited!
This week was good!
We went to breakfast with a really cute old guy! He was so sweet. He told us his mission is "no skinny missionaries”! He wore this cute little jump suit and he had an American hat on!
We are still super tight with the members and they literally are making mine and Sister Fords experience in this area!
We went on exchanges this week and the highlight of the day was... Sister Burgener and I were driving and as many of you know I get super distracted when I am telling a story. So I was telling her something and I just all the sudden parked without even thinking. We were trying to get to a pizza place that members had ordered us food at. Well we both get out of the car (still distracted) and we walk into the "pizza place”. Definitely wasn't a pizza place. We actually were in a bank! We were laughing so hard. Sometimes I do the dumbest things, but hey it makes life fun, right?
Siua got baptized. He is someone I taught a couple times in my last area. I didn't go because I don’t think he even remembers my name, but I'm still super happy and proud of him!
Since general conference is this week, every night at member meals we have been sharing a message about the prophet! To start off we play a game of telephone (where one person starts and each person whispers in the next person's ear until the person at the end says it out loud). Almost every time the message gets distorted. We relate this to why it is so important that we have a prophet who is God’s mouthpiece. Without our modern day prophet President Russell M. Nelson, we would all be hearing different things and the full message God wants us to hear wouldn't be complete. We then share this quote, "A prophet does not stand between you and the Savior. Rather, he stands beside you and points the way to the Savior." -Neil L Andersen We then transition into talking about how the Prophet really is just a guide to Jesus Christ! We can have that one on one relationship with the Savior, and the prophet is someone who can help us get there as we listen to his teachings, which are God's teachings!
So... with general conference being this weekend I have an invitation for you all. I want you to pick something you learned from the prophet and share it with someone else! Whether that be a family member, a friend, or a stranger! I know that you will feel Christ’s love for you and that person as you do this, and that it will brighten whoever's day you decide to share it with!
Also there is a girl from my area in Arlington who has been missing for about a week now. Her name is Lauren. I only met her once or twice over zoom. But If you could just keep her in your prayers and pray for her to have a safe return home that would be amazing!
I love y’all!
