Quitz, Chitz, and Ditz

Hello everyone!

Sorry I am not writing until today. My p-day got moved to today so that I can go to the temple tonight with the youth! So excited!

This week was good!

We went to breakfast with a really cute old guy! He was so sweet. He told us his mission is "no skinny missionaries”!  He wore this cute little jump suit and he had an American hat on!

We are still super tight with the members and they literally are making mine and Sister Fords experience in this area!

We went on exchanges this week and the highlight of the day was... Sister Burgener and I were driving and as many of you know I get super distracted when I am telling a story. So I was telling her something and I just all the sudden parked without even thinking. We were trying to get to a pizza place that members had ordered us food at. Well we both get out of the car (still distracted) and we walk into the "pizza place”.  Definitely wasn't a pizza place.  We actually were in a bank! We were laughing so hard. Sometimes I do the dumbest things, but hey it makes life fun, right?

Siua got baptized. He is someone I taught a couple times in my last area. I didn't go because I don’t think he even remembers my name, but I'm still super happy and proud of him!

Since general conference is this week, every night at member meals we have been sharing a message about the prophet! To start off we play a game of telephone (where one person starts and each person whispers in the next person's ear until the person at the end says it out loud). Almost every time the message gets distorted. We relate this to why it is so important that we have a prophet who is God’s mouthpiece. Without our modern day prophet President Russell M. Nelson, we would all be hearing different things and the full message God wants us to hear wouldn't be complete. We then share this quote, "A prophet does not stand between you and the Savior. Rather, he stands beside you and points the way to the Savior." -Neil L Andersen We then transition into talking about how the Prophet really is just a guide to Jesus Christ! We can have that one on one relationship with the Savior, and the prophet is someone who can help us get there as we listen to his teachings, which are God's teachings!

So... with general conference being this weekend I have an invitation for you all. I want you to pick something you learned from the prophet and share it with someone else! Whether that be a family member, a friend, or a stranger! I know that you will feel Christ’s love for you and that person as you do this, and that it will brighten whoever's day you decide to share it with!

Also there is a girl from my area in Arlington who has been missing for about a week now. Her name is Lauren. I only met her once or twice over zoom. But If you could just keep her in your prayers and pray for her to have a safe return home that would be amazing!

I love y’all!

"I've been to North Korea, just thought I'd throw that out there."

Hello my people!

The last couple weeks have been good at times and hard at others.

So, Sister Studdert (my greenie) had to go home due to some mental health reasons which was sad because she was one of my fav missionaries. The day we found out she was for sure leaving, Sister Ford and I took her to Buc-cees because she of course had to experience it. There we got matching bracelets and then we also all got matching sweatshirts which was fun! We sure do miss her, but I'm glad she is getting the help she needs.

This area is extremely slow. I know it's all how you look at it, but I've been trying so hard to look at it from so many different angles and I just can't get myself to think different. But I'm going to keep trying lol! The one thing that has kept me sane through all of it is 1) my amazing companion Sister Ford. Love that girl!  And 2) The amazing members here! We have become very tight specifically with the Colleyville Ward. We have nick names for our ward members that we are friends with. Probably not the most professional, but they are fine with it so.... one of them we decided to call Quitz.  His name is Brother Spitzer, but their family is all in the ward and there are 4 Brother Spitzer’s. So, his first name is Quinton and we decided to combine it and make it Quitz lol. I told him that's what we decided to call him and he goes “no, just call me GQ" Evidently that's what he is having his grand babies call him now. But we told him we would stick with Quitz. It's so funny cuz he jokingly gets mad about it every time. The rest already have nick names. I guess we are cool enough we get to call them by their "cool" names. Quitz came up with all of them. We have Jazzy JJ, Easy E, C- Money, Prime Minister, L.A., Pappy, and Happy!

Anyways, I don't have much else to share about the area, but I do have a quote.

"A prophet does not stand between you and the Savior. Rather, he stands beside you and points the way to the Savior." - Neil L. Andersen

I can testify that President Russell M. Nelson is the prophet of God and he leads, guides, and points us to our savior! Remember that as you watch general conference coming up in 2 weeks! I love y’all, but Jesus loves you more!

The BEST DAY EVER x2

Hello my wonderful friends and family!  This week was super wild!  But so good!

First off.....

ROMINA GOT BAPTIZED TUESDAY!

The baptism was so amazing! I was able to give a talk which was fun! As she was baptized the spirit was so strong and literally everyone in the room was emotional, especially Suliasi(her husband), who was the one baptizing her! I even almost cried. After the baptism she received the gift of the Holy Ghost and it was so so special! It was given to her in Tongan but the spirit was so strong, so it didn't matter if I could understand it. We then went to a restaurant called Villa Brasil. It was out of our mission, but President said we could go if we got a ride. So Suliasi and Romina took us! It was special to talk to them after it had just happened. Romina just kept saying that she didn't think it would have happened this fast if we wouldn't have come over that first night! She then said the cutest thing ever and I literally almost started crying! She said "everyone always talks about their missionaries and now I finally have mine" and then Suliasi was like "yeah and everyone's jealous that we get you guys." Now I know it wasn’t anything to do with us! We just were guides on a path that was between Heavenly Father and Romina! Nothing would have happened unless Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were in every detail along the way! Romina called me the next day! I had given her a letter at the baptism because I transferred the day after. She told me how the letter said some things that she has felt the same exact way about! It was such a cool experience and I just love her SO MUCH! This is what people mean when they talk about loving the people you serve and now I finally get to experience it! I just love God SO MUCH!

Second off.....

JERRY GOT BAPTIZED!

This was also such an AMAZING day! We have been talking about this day for so long! I mean only 3 or 4 months, but still! I remember the first lesson that Sister Kratz and I had with him.  The night of that lesson we were talking about how we could already see him in white lol! We were slightly just very hopeful, but it isn't just a hope anymore! So that’s good! I was able to be a witness at his baptism! As he was put under the water the Spirit was SO STRONG! He came up smiling and what almost seemed like glowing, and he softly nodded and just said "yeah!" As he received the Holy Ghost, the spirit was also so strong in the room. I'm so grateful that he made this choice to follow Jesus Christ and come close to Heavenly Father! After the baptism he told me that he had always felt the Spirit, but this time it was different! He said it felt like it was running through him! He also called me yesterday and we were able to do a small Book of Mormon story! It's crazy how much he's grown! He literally told us 4 months ago that he wasn't meeting with us to convert so that we shouldn't plan on it! Then God worked his magic.  BAM! He's a member!

Third off....

We had transfers! It was so sad to leave Hurst, and I literally could not stop crying! I also had to leave Sister Berg which made me super sad! She was an amazing companion! But here in Colleyville has been good. Sister Ford and I finally got our wish of being comps so that is amazing. We have been telling President we want to be comps our whole mission and it finally happened! Funny thing is, he told me on the phone "I prayed and I prayed and God told me yes. I was like are you sure? And he still said yes" hahaha we think he knew we would be crazy because we are now in his ward, haha!

I also go my trainee! Sister Studdert! She is so amazing! Funny thing! Her best friend was trained by one of my best friends, Sarah in their mission in Indiana! So I had already heard about her before she came out. Kinda wild! Sister Studdert is a vibe and a half though! She is honestly super similar to Ford and I, and so we all just go crazy together! It's been so fun and I feel like I'm with some of my best friends! The work is super super slow here but we are going to work so hard and try to make it better!

Anyways I have gone on for too long! I love you all tons, and God loves you more! Lmk if you need anything!
