Birthday Cake

This week was so busy! Im tired!

Monday: We went to play Pickle-ball and I got to see Sister Valenzuela and Hermana Balls so that was a PARTY!

Tuesday: We had District Council. Our District Leader had all 10 of us go buy a bag of burgers for 5 bucks at Braum’s. Each bag comes with 5 burgers so we had 50 burgers! We dumped them all in the middle of the table and he told us we had to finish them. Sister Howe and I refused to eat them lol!! But they ended up eating all but 2 of them! He compared it to our missions and how it seems like a lot, but really we just need to take one bite at a time and we need to do it as a team. Kinda a funny training!

Wednesday: We did service like all day long! We helped this family take bricks from a wall they knocked down to a dump. The dump was low key sketchy, but it was a good time and we got lunch after so wahoo! Later that night we went to dinner with the best members! They took us out to dinner and I was just laughing the whole time!

Thursday: We had our other District Council and then we did service at Second Glance which is a thrift store. So, highlight of that day. I was trying to help a customer get a shirt off of a mannequin and it was so hard. So, I had her lift up the mannequins arms like we were changing a kids shirt and we were laughing so hard.  Well, then one of the arms fell off and hit me in the face and this lady was just dying! It was so so funny!

Friday: This was my favorite day of the week! Out mission President took our whole mission to the Theaters to see the Lamb of God! It was so spiritual and so happy! The spirit was so strong as we listened to songs about our Savior Jesus Christ! After we had a testimony meeting which was also super cool!!

Saturday: We went to a Tongan barbecue with the whole zone! The lady putting it on was the cutest! So we walk in and they are roasting whole fish! Like fins and everything! Then towards the end she says, "Does it happen to be anyone's birthday today or this week?" Then all the sudden Elder Bowman goes "Its Sister Poulsons birthday today”! It is definitely not my birthday until May.  Anyways, she did not believe me and she brings me out this massive cake. She took so many pictures and everyone sang to me! It was so funny! Later that night we taught this guy named Jamie about Jesus!

Sunday: We had SC and a big zone breakfast! Later that night we got a hold of a girl that missionaries have been trying to get a hold of for 2 YEARS! AND WE SET UP A LESSON! So, wahoo!

Spiritual thought: Remember to keep Christ in the center of your everyday life! He did so much for us! He is the reason we are here and he is the reason why we celebrate next Sunday! Have a happy Easter my friends!

Love you!

Hey Jennifer

Hello my lovely people! This week was crazy, but super good!

Monday: We went to Capernaum Studios where the Chosen was filmed and that was a party! That night we went to a restaurant in Azle. Its called Reds and Azle is known for it. It was so good! Kinda sad because it was our last time going out as a district before transfers :(

Tuesday: We went to do service, went to ice cream with one of my fav YSA sisters (Mazey), then we went to dinner with the Ishihara's to say goodbye:(

Wednesday: It was transfers! We woke up super early to go pick up the sisters in Stephenville so that we could drive them to transfers. Once we got to transfers I saw most of my past comps which was soo fun, and then I met my new comp Sister Swinson! She is super super cool! That night we went to dinner with Sini who is a YSA member. Her cousins came and they were freaking out because they think I look like Jennifer Garner haha! Every time I see them now they yell "Heyyy Jennifer!!" So funny! We also had like 3 member lessons that day, so wahoo!

Thursday: We had MLC (Mission Leader Conference).  I got to meet some of the other missionaries in my zone, so that was a lot of fun! We then volunteered at a thrift store. I decided that is dangerous for me! I ended up buying like 3 things, but hey they were cheap so... yeah! That night we had dinner with the YSA bishop. His son lives with him, along with his son's wife who is from Fiji, and they have literally the most beautiful children I have ever seen!

Friday: We had lunch with the Bedford Sisters. For dinner we had this food from these people in our wards business! Its called Poka and its really good Tongan food! That evening we went to a  YSA activity.  It was so much fun because we got to go bowling with them. I forgot how bad I was though! After that we had a lesson with this guy named Massi who is actually on date for baptism so thats exciting!

Saturday: That morning we went to a relief society activity. We were playing games and everyone was just screaming.  It was so funny! I was dead! That afternoon we were supposed to go to a barbecue for all the local missionaries, but when we showed up they said it was canceled.  This lady ran out and gave every car a 20 dollar bill. We tried to say no, but she wouldn't take it haha! That night we went to dinner with another YSA member. Her name is Ame and she is super cool!

Sunday: Okay, so I think I forgot to mention I'm in a Tongan ward lol! So, we went to church and it was so much fun! The way they sing the hymns is AMAZING! Also, Tongan is like the prettiest language ever so it was fun to listen to it! A funny thing that happened at church! This lady comes up to us and says "Hi" and put out her hand to hold mine and as she does, she slips a 5 dollar bill into my hand. Then takes Sister Swinson’s hand and does the same thing and then walks away! They are so kind!!

Spiritual Thought: This week as we were driving to transfers, one of the sisters in our car was going home the next day. It was her 18 month mark so we told her to tell us 18 things she had learned. One thing she said really stuck out to me.  She said, "When it comes to being right or being kind, always choose kind".  So after that I decided to make my goal for this transfer to "Choose Kind".  Too often I care about being right and thats something I want to change! So if any of you want to join me,  feel free!

Also, Im pretty sure I've already eaten half my body weight in food this week! They love to feed us in this ward! So, pray for me hahaha!

Well I love Y'all! Have the best week!

"I just keep thinking about Thomas" -EV

This week was crazy!!

Monday: That night we started exchanges with the Stephenville sisters. I went to Stephenville with Sister Adkison and Fowers. We had a dinner, except the family only spoke Spanish so Sister Fowers had to translate for me the entire time we were there. On the way to the dinner, Fowers got us all hyped about the Mexican food we were about to eat and it ended up being wings! They were SO SPICY! No joke I thought I was going to cry because I was in so much pain! But I finished them! So be proud!

Tuesday: Stephenville really is the boonies!  That morning we got to go work on this old ladies goat farm! It was so much fun and I just love goats! We then had District Council and my mission President actually came, so that was fun! During DC we did a wall sit while reading the whole book of Omni(its one chapter), but it hurt SO BAD! After DC we traded back from exchanges! That night we started another exchange with the MSTLs (Mission Sister Training Leaders) and I was with Sister Stowers in Colleyville!

Wedneday: Sister Stowers and I woke up at 5:30 in the morning to go play pickle ball! For those of you who know me, I'm not a morning person lol, but I did it! Anyways, we went and played, and it was actually fun. Plus, we got to do a really fun trail run! We then had a lesson with their friend, Jermaine, and that guy is so cool! So, that was exciting! We also had a study session that night with some of their YSA members! It was an overall party! I was just laughing all day! I think maybe because I was soo tired from going on 2 exchanges in a row right after P-day lol!

Thursday: This was actually the scariest day of my whole mission. No joke. We started the day off with volunteering, We had just gotten home when we got a call from the ZLs. They told us that the Stephenville sisters had been in a car accident and Sister Fowers was in the hospital. That's all they told us. I literally was shaking and could barley move, but we ran to the car because they told us we needed to go pick up her companions. The drive to Stephenville is like a hour and it literally felt like an eternity. We finally got there and we just sat with her comps. Sister Fowers was released from the hospital. She is okay, but has a pretty bad concussion! So, that was scary! There were definitely miracles, because there were so many things that could've gone way worse! They went to the MSTL’s to stay for a few days. Also, it was my brother Bryan's birthday, so shoutout to him.

Friday: It was a pretty chill day! We mainly just did finding all day! One thing that did happen.... my brother Bryan got engaged to Jordyn Fail.  She's super cute and I'm really happy for them.  So, that's super exciting!! I'm sad to miss the wedding though!

Saturday: We had a good day! We had lots of study sessions and a good Zone Leader Conference (ZLC) meeting at Braum’s after. It took Elder Veater and I like a hour to convince Elder Spencer to have it at Braum’s! We won!! That night the Stephenville sisters came and stayed the night so we could take them back to their apartment Sunday morning.

Sunday: Sunday morning we took the Stephenville Sisters home, and then we had church! It was testimony meeting and everyone was bearing testimony of the Atonement! It was so good! That night we had dinner with the Stake President and his family, and we were just laughing the whole time!

Spiritual thought: this week I was constantly thinking about the Atonement! I got asked to speak in church next Sunday on a talk called "The Healing Power of Jesus Christ" By Cristina B. Franco. It's so so good, and I encourage you all to read it!

Here is the link:

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2020/10/34franco?lang=eng

Remember that Jesus Christ loves you no matter who you are! If there’s one thing my mission has taught me so far, it’s that the Atonement of Jesus Christ IS the answer to everything!

Have the best week!

Love Y'all

Arthur

Hey Everyone,

This week was good!

Monday and Tuesday: We had exchanges and I was with Sister McBride. She is definitely like one of my favorite human beings, so that was a party! Tuesday night we went to Jennifer’s. She is a lady that believes anything good comes from God and so she LOVES missionaries and they had us over. It was a super fun!

Wednesday: We went to the Fuller’s. They are the cutest family! They live on a huge lot of land and they have the cutest southern accents.

Thursday: We went and volunteered at Capernum and then we had District Council haha! After DC we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and we were just all laughing the whole time!

Friday: We went to the District Council up in Stephenville and after we went and got dinner with the Stephenville Sisters.

Saturday: We volunteered at a thrift store called Manna. It was High key Stressful, but a good time! After we went to a flea market with the Elders to try and strike conversations with people. That night we had a lesson with Tony. It went super well! We taught him about the Priesthood and actually had the Elders where he live set up a time to go over and give him a blessing because he is going through a hard time right now.

Sunday: We went to church and it was super good.  We went to the Dansie’s for dinner and then all the Sisters came over for the night. It was a good day!

Spiritual Thought: We are going to keep it simple folks!! Jesus Love YOU! INDIVIDUALLY! So reach out to him!

Love you guys,
